Is there a fee to work with ABDA?
Only after we customize and finalize your company’s retainer agreement. Complementary initial consult sessions with your team is our way to ensure our services will match your expectations. Once we have an agreement, ABDA works on a monthly days/month level of effort agreement customized for your BD requirements. -
Does ABDA help small businesses?
Absolutely! ABDA is a small business! In fact, our clients span the spectrum of defense companies. From multi-billion-dollar annual revenue defense companies down to mid-sized to small companies with a small number of employees. We do however have significant expertise working with the Department of Defense specific awards dedicated to small business contracts. ABDA can help you work all of the facets needed to be successful with small business contracts like SBIRs and identify other opportunities to multiply your revenue. -

Is ABDA located near Wright-Patterson AFB, OH (WPAFB) and all of the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC), Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) and Air Force Research Lab (AFRL)? Do you have workspace for visiting clients—and is there an additional charge to use this work space if available?
ABDA’s main headquarters is less than a 5-minute car ride from our office to most of the AFLCMC and AFRL offices and facilities. And about a 10-minute ride to AFMC HQ. Our brick-and-mortar office has ample workspace for our clients to use, free of charge, whenever they have meetings and work in/around WPAFB, including a fully equipped conference room. When you are at WPAFB, the ABDA main office is at your service. -
Our company does not have any offices near WPAFB, and our CEO wants to have a full-time employee at WPAFB. Why would we pay ABDA when we could have our ‘own’ full time person?
When you hire one person, one person will be paid for 160 hours/month on average, and will need an office, a vacation, medical, maybe a bonus, a 401K, maybe an annual raise--and many other expenses to cover. And they will be one person, with no-one in the area to cover responsibilities when they take a vacation, no one to help with contact plans, and have just their ‘Rolodex’ and the intellectual property they have the day they are hired. They will more than likely require some spin-up time to get fully up to speed with the complexities of the AFMC ecosystem. When you hire ABDA, you hire the ABDA Team. You bring on our team rolodex—built up over 30+ years of experience with the USAF, AFMC, and the Defense Industry. You bring on a potential pool of diverse subject matter expertise available to you on Day One. You bring on an extension of your BD team ready on Day 1. And your expense is a fraction of the cost of one full-time equivalent (FTE.)

Can you give us a list of your clients so we can check you out with companies using your services?
Sorry, no. We do not share our client lists with anyone. Keeping confidentiality and proprietary information secure is one of our most important corporate attributes. We are happy, however, to set up a no-charge consult with your team to discuss how ABDA can help you expand your BD efforts. -
Does ABDA work on commission? Can we pay you a percentage of the contracts we win after the Government pays us?
We do not work on commission but a retainer we consider an industry best value proposition. Our business development processes are focused on building the right relationships and engagements to support our client’s business and growth objectives.
